Chinese New Year 2027: Plan Your Hardware and Packaging Together

A launch needs more than enough cartridges. It needs the matching packaging, approved artwork, and time to get everything into production. One missing box can hold up an entire batch.

For Chinese New Year 2027, building a complete order plan helps cannabis brands and processors protect their production schedules through the holiday and the weeks that follow.

Place your CCELL hardware and custom packaging orders with Canna Brand Solutions by December 11, 2026. Submit new sample requests by November 21, 2026, and plan inventory coverage through May 2027. Start custom projects earlier to leave room for approvals and revisions.

Chinese New Year’s Day falls on February 6, 2027, marking the Year of the Goat. Our manufacturers’ planned closure runs from February 5 through February 20, 2027. Your ordering timeline needs to account for production and shipping on both sides of that closure. www.hko.gov.hk

What are the Chinese New Year 2027 order deadlines?

Use the following schedule to work backward from your production needs.

DatePlanning milestone
October–November 2026Review inventory, forecast demand, and prepare new custom projects or reorders.
November 21, 2026Final submission date for new sample requests.
December 11, 2026Order deadline for CCELL hardware and custom packaging intended for pre-CNY shipment.
January 20, 2027Target latest ship-out date for qualifying CCELL orders; qualifying packaging orders are scheduled to begin shipping.
February 1, 2027Planned final manufacturer shipment before the shutdown.
February 5–20, 2027Planned manufacturer closure.
February 26, 2027Estimated shipping restart for packaging orders placed after the December 11 deadline.
March 6, 2027Estimated shipping restart for CCELL orders placed after the December 11 deadline.
After March 8, 2027Manufacturers are expected to be fully operational.

These are estimated manufacturer shipping milestones, not delivery dates or guarantees. Meeting the deadlines improves the likelihood of pre-CNY shipment, but each order’s schedule depends on approvals, production capacity, and logistics. Confirm your project’s timing with our team. The schedule follows the supplied planning sheet and your confirmed product-specific restart dates.

The February 1 final shipment date does not extend the December 11 order deadline. Production needs time before goods can leave the factory.

Why can CNY order disruption last beyond the factory closure?

Chinese New Year affects several connected parts of the supply chain. A useful order plan accounts for three stages:

Before the holiday: Manufacturers work through seasonal order demand while preparing to close. Freight demand can rise as businesses try to move goods before the break. Production capacity and shipping space may become harder to secure.

During the closure: Factory production pauses at participating manufacturers. An order submitted during this period may have to wait for production to resume.

After reopening: Workers and upstream suppliers return on different schedules. Production lines need time to restart, existing orders still need attention, and goods must complete shipping and delivery.

Maersk and DHL describe these recurring CNY production and logistics effects in their supply chain guidance. The exact impact varies by factory and shipment. Maersk

For your business, the relevant date is when usable stock reaches your operation. A manufacturer’s shipping restart marks the beginning of movement for eligible orders; transit and receiving time still follow.

How much inventory should you order to cover through May 2027?

Calculate demand for each hardware and packaging SKU across the period you need to protect. Canna Brand Solutions recommends planning coverage through May 2027 to account for the holiday and the replenishment period afterward.

Use this starting calculation:

Additional units needed = forecast demand + safety stock − available inventory − confirmed, timely inbound supply

Use available inventory after subtracting stock committed elsewhere. Only count incoming goods that are expected to arrive before you need them.

An example for one hardware SKU

Suppose you are planning coverage from February 1 through May 31, 2027:

Planning inputUnits
Forecast monthly usage8,000
Demand for February–May32,000
Illustrative safety stock4,000
Projected available inventory on January 319,000
Confirmed inbound units arriving before they are needed5,000
Additional units needed22,000

The calculation is 32,000 + 4,000 − 9,000 − 5,000 = 22,000 units.

The 4,000-unit buffer is an example, not a universal recommendation. Adjust your buffer for demand variability, launch plans, and the consequences of running short.

Then check the plan month by month. A sufficient total through May can still hide a February shortage if replenishment arrives in March.

Repeat the calculation for the corresponding cartons, inserts, labels, or other packaging components. Include planned launches and promotions in your forecast, and confirm minimum order quantities before finalizing your purchase.

New custom orders and reorders need different preparation

For new customers and custom designs

Allow two to three weeks for the physical sample process and approval, whether approval is handled digitally or physically. The sample must be approved before the order can be placed. New custom orders also need to meet the applicable minimum order quantity and artwork requirements.

November 21 is the final sample-request date; start earlier wherever possible. A three-week approval cycle beginning on that date can run beyond the December 11 order deadline. Revisions would leave even less room.

Prepare your product specifications, dieline, artwork, quantities, and intended delivery requirements before requesting a sample. Give one person responsibility for consolidating feedback and approving the final version.

For existing customers placing reorders

Begin with the approved design and exact product specifications from your previous order. Confirm quantities, SKU versions, and whether anything has changed.

A different device size, packaging structure, material, or print design may require additional review or sampling. Ask our team how the change affects your schedule before treating the project as a straightforward reorder.

During the seasonal demand period, allow six to eight weeks for order production, in addition to any required sampling and approval time. Shipping and receiving time must also be included in your plan.

Coordinate hardware and packaging around the same ready date

Review the quantities and timing of every component needed for your finished product.

For example, 20,000 devices paired with 12,000 suitable cartons support at most 12,000 packaged units, assuming one carton per device and no losses. The remaining devices need packaging before those units can be completed.

For each planned product, confirm:

  • Hardware and packaging fit the approved specifications.
  • Quantities match the intended finished-unit output.
  • Artwork and samples are approved where required.
  • Expected arrival dates support your filling and packing schedule.
  • Time remains for receiving checks and preparation before launch.

Share the date you need materials ready at your operation. That gives our team a clearer planning target than a launch date alone.

Your pre-CNY ordering checklist

  1. Forecast demand through May. Include regular production, promotions, and planned launches.
  2. Check usable inventory. Separate available units from stock reserved for other commitments.
  3. Match hardware with packaging. Identify the component most likely to limit finished-product output.
  4. Finish custom approvals early. Submit new sample requests by November 21, with extra time for revisions.
  5. Place orders by December 11. Confirm acceptance, final specifications, and any remaining requirements with our team.
  6. Review shipment and arrival timing. Confirm how manufacturer ship-out dates translate into your production schedule.

Keep purchasing, design, and operations working from the same approved specifications and dates. A late artwork change can affect a plan that purchasing already considers complete.

What if you miss the December 11 deadline?

Contact Canna Brand Solutions promptly with the product, quantity, and date you need materials available.

The current estimated shipping restart is February 26, 2027, for packaging and March 6, 2027, for CCELL orders placed after the deadline. These dates indicate when shipping is expected to begin for eligible orders; they do not promise that every order will depart that day.

Our team can review your project timing and discuss whether available inventory or another suitable option can help. Availability and feasibility need to be confirmed for your specific order.

If you are relying on post-CNY production, check that existing stock covers the period until replacement goods are received and ready to use.

Frequently asked questions about CNY 2027 orders

When is Chinese New Year 2027?

Chinese New Year’s Day is February 6, 2027. Canna Brand Solutions’ manufacturers are scheduled to close from February 5 through February 20, 2027. Factory closure dates are separate from the New Year’s Day date.

What is the pre-CNY order deadline for Canna Brand Solutions?

The deadline for CCELL hardware and custom packaging orders intended for pre-CNY shipment is December 11, 2026. New sample requests must be submitted by November 21, 2026. Order-specific timing should be confirmed with our team.

What does pre-CNY shipment mean?

Pre-CNY shipment means goods leave the manufacturer before the holiday shutdown. It does not mean they arrive at your facility before Chinese New Year. Your arrival estimate must account for transport, clearance where applicable, and receiving time.

Why should I plan inventory through May 2027?

Coverage through May provides a planning horizon for the closure, production ramp-up, and replenishment transit. Calculate quantities from your forecast and timely incoming supply rather than applying the same stock quantity to every SKU.

When will orders placed after the deadline begin shipping?

Packaging orders placed after December 11 are estimated to begin shipping on February 26, 2027. CCELL orders are estimated to begin shipping on March 6, 2027. Actual shipment and arrival dates depend on the individual order.

Does ordering before December 11 guarantee shipment before CNY?

No. The deadline improves the likelihood of pre-CNY shipment, but it does not guarantee it. Approvals, production capacity, and logistics still affect the schedule. Confirm the expected timing for your order with Canna Brand Solutions.
