Who’s in this episode

Respect My Region sits down with Alice Moon, co-founder of High on Plants, a cannabis-inspired fashion brand, and founder of Moon Soul Sound Baths, a wellness experience built around sound meditation, relaxation, and community. Alice is also known as an advocate and creator in the cannabis space, including her openness around CHS and her continued role in cannabis culture even though she no longer consumes cannabis herself.

This conversation is part wellness, part brand-building, and part reminder that cannabis culture is bigger than consumption.

Sound baths, mattresses, and a room full of calm

One of the most interesting parts of the interview is Alice’s monthly sound bath at a mattress store. Yes, a mattress store.

She shares that around 60 people attend each month, and the experience gives people a moment to slow down in a world that feels increasingly chaotic. Alice describes it as her way of contributing positivity—helping people relax, de-stress, and reset.

The setup is simple but thoughtful:

  • crystal bowls
  • chimes and other instruments
  • guided relaxation
  • fresh sheets on queen-size mattresses
  • pink sleep masks
  • moon-shaped crystals for attendees to take home

And yes, people fall asleep. Alice calls that “the greatest honor” because it means they are deeply relaxed.

Cannabis still has a place in the experience

Even though Alice no longer consumes cannabis, she still finds thoughtful ways to include it in her events.

At the sound baths, she offers cannabis drinks beforehand for attendees who choose to consume. The goal is not to push consumption, but to create an optional layer of relaxation before meditation.

That is a useful signal for brands and event organizers: cannabis can be integrated into wellness experiences without being the whole show. Sometimes it works best as a supporting element.

What actually happens at a sound bath?

For anyone who has never attended one, Alice breaks it down clearly.

A sound bath is a guided relaxation experience where participants listen to instruments like crystal bowls and chimes. The sounds and vibrations help people settle their body and mind. Alice talks attendees through relaxing, staying present, and focusing on the frequencies of the instruments.

The whole point is calm.
No hard sell. No complicated ritual. Just a room full of people slowing down together.

She also offers corporate sound baths, including for cannabis teams and leadership groups looking for a different kind of team reset.

High on Plants: fashion for people who love the plant

Alice also talks about High on Plants, the fashion brand she co-founded.

The brand creates plant-inspired earrings, necklaces, and accessories designed to let people express their love for cannabis in a stylish, approachable way. The goal is not to be loud or offensive. It is to make plant pride wearable.

Alice puts it simply:
“It’s just a leaf.”

And that leaf has become a community marker. She shares that people recognize the earrings at events like Hall of Flowers, approach each other, take selfies, and become friends because of the shared signal.

That is brand-building at its best: when the product becomes an icebreaker.

New drops: from Rage to Joy

Alice shares a new collaboration with Christina Wong of Fruit + Flower. The upcoming earrings are called Joy.

The story behind the drop is interesting. High on Plants previously released a pair called Rage, where Christina splatter-painted the pieces as an expression of emotion. But after a photo shoot with 20 women, they realized many people struggled to express rage in front of the camera. That sparked the idea to shift focus toward joy instead.

It is a small product story, but a smart one. It gives the drop emotional context without overcomplicating it.

Custom necklaces are the next focus

High on Plants is also leaning into custom necklaces.

Alice shows a necklace and explains that they can make pieces say almost anything, in different colors and chain styles. Her business partner, Caroline, is a graphic designer, which opens up more custom design possibilities for customers and retailers.

That is a strong direction for the brand because custom accessories create personal connection. People do not just buy the look. They buy the phrase, the identity, and the story.

From direct-to-consumer to dispensary shelves

Alice says High on Plants spent the last two years focused mostly on direct-to-consumer sales. Now the brand is moving into dispensaries and retail shops.

One major update: High on Plants is now selling at The Woods in West Hollywood. Alice says the next chapter is getting into more shops.

For cannabis retailers, this is worth paying attention to. Accessories like High on Plants can add culture and giftability to a dispensary environment. They are not just merch. They can help a store feel more alive.

Why this matters for cannabis brands and retailers

This interview highlights a few useful lessons:

1) Community is still the strongest marketing channel

High on Plants grows because people recognize it, wear it, and connect through it.

2) Wellness events can build real loyalty

Alice’s sound baths are not transactional. They create trust and emotional memory.

3) Cannabis culture does not require consumption

Alice’s role in the industry shows that people can still advocate, create, and build community around the plant even when their personal relationship with consumption changes.

4) Retail needs more than products

Fashion, accessories, events, and experience-driven offerings help dispensaries become gathering points—not just checkout counters.
